The company
Cosmedico is the premium tanning lamp brand of JW Sales GmbH. JW Sales GmbH distributes tanning lamps worldwide and is part of JW Holding GmbH, based in Stuttgart. JW Holding GmbH has been a successful, internationally active group of companies for over 45 years.
The Group focuses on the manufacture and trade of radiation sources for cosmetic, medical and technical applications. The group employs about 270 people worldwide and supplies customers in 60 countries.
JW Sales
JW Sales GmbH is the sales company for tanning lamps. In addition to the globally successful premium brand Cosmedico, the sales portfolio also includes the tanning lamps of the brands Wolff System and iSOLde Licht. All lamps are “Made in Germany” and are shipped from Germany to all over the world.
JW North America
The foundation for opening up the US market was laid at an early stage. The New Jersey branch was established as early as 1978. Today, our US subsidiary operates under the name JW North America Inc. and is based in Rockland, MA.
UV Logistics (UK)
Our subsidiary company UV Logistics (UVL) in the United Kingdom (UK) is the largest stockist of UV Lamps in the UK. UVL, the trading division of Lancashire Lightening Services Ltd., has been established over 40 years ago. Their unbeaten customer service reaches salon operators nationwide. Reliability and technical assistance, and goods delivered weekly to their customers’ doors by their own drivers, are the recipe for the continuing success of UVL. UVL have worked closely with Cosmedico in order to ensure there are compatible 0.3 lamps to suit all tanning equipment.

Every Cosmedico lamp contains a thick dose of expertise and decades of experience and research. That is why our premium product portfolio offers the right answer to almost every individual requirement.
All Cosmedico UV low-pressure lamps are manufactured in our in-house production at NARVA Lichtquellen GmbH + Co. KG in Germany. All Cosmedico UV high-pressure lamps are also produced in Germany, e.g. at NARVA G.L.E. in Berlin. Cosmedico is innovative know-how in every lamp.

Phosphor mixture
The inner coating of a tanning lamp is mixed from several phosphors. This phosphor mixture is decisive for the spectrum, i.e. the tanning effect of the lamp. The art lies in combining the phosphors in such a way that they are compatible and stable and achieve an optimal tanning effect.

ESA
The European Sunlight Association (ESA), the European voice of the tanning industry, actively engages with policy makers in the EU. Here, for example, training and education standards are set for studio operations in Europe to ensure the highest possible level of safety. We are a committed member and take on a responsible leadership role.
BFB
Strong as a team! This is the motto of the Bundesfachverband Besonnung e. V. (German Tanning Association), in which we hold a responsible leadership position and are involved as a member. As the representative body for the tanning industry, the association represents the interests and concerns of its members to legislators, the public and each other.
TSA
The Sunbed Association (TSA) is the Voice of the Industry for tanning salon operators, manufacturers and distributors of indoor tanning equipment throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland. Sunbed users seek out members of TSA where they can tan responsibly and with confidence. The managing director of UVL, our subsidiary company in the UK, is a member of TSA’s Board.
SISO
Cosmedico is committed to this initiative. The participants undertake to comply with the initiative’s charter, which, among other things, guarantees a standard that sets global standards for the safety of indoor tanning and consumer protection. The initiative advocates, among other things, a balanced and fact-based scientific debate on the health effects of tanning.
